England Day 1 - London

as much as pple tink britain = england = london, there is much to say abt the difference! haha..

great britain is a collection of countries made up of england, wales, scotland and north ireland..

england is a collection of cities and towns made up of london, manchester, leeds, cambridge, oxford, bath, salisbury etc etc etc juz to name afew..

lastly, london, is juz a city in england, with the famous paddington street, oxford street, piccadilly circus, trafalgar square, king cross, juz to name afew.. more can be found on ur MONOPOLY game-set.. haha..

ok, much is said for clearing some doubts tat pple hav (me included, which is y my post is england and not london, cos WE DID GO OTHER TOWNS outside london! weee~~)

our hostel was near "elephant n castle" tube station (similar to wats our MRT trains).. haha.. yes, wat a cute name.. so we bought our oyster card (similar to wats our ezlink card) for travelling within london itself.. they go by zones, with a max deduction of 4.80pounds per day for tourist.. yes its 15SGD but its damn wu-hua, cos we take the tube like no one's business! haha..

den we moved on to buy MUSICAL TICKETS for tonite!! yes, wat better things to do den to watch authentic british musicals in london?!?! haha.. its so exciting going ard the different box offices to buy our tickets.. different prices for different seatings, afternoon matinee or the nite show.. with the student price offer, its 50% off lah.. damn worth it..

after getting our tix, we wasted no time in roaming the streets of london! haha.. cos we were warned many times tat there's too much things to see in london!!

so, we dashed down to Westminster.. there, we saw:

big ben..

london eye..

there, we went into the westminster abbey to take a look inside.. nothing much actually.. after going to italy, we dun really find much interest in anymore churches / museums.. haha..

we got a tourist to snap dis pic for us in the college garden of the abbey! deliciously done..

we den moved on to Victoria area..

outside the main gates of buckingham palace.. yes, its where the royalties live in..

the sun was shining brightly in the sky (after a gloomy sky while we were visiting the westminster abbey.. talk abt unpredictability of weather in spore huh?! haha..

its gross for SOME pple to juz follow wat i do, and den take out his shades.. i noe i am cool, BUT i still dun really like the idea of having another ME ard ya see.. haha.. nvm, shall not mention names.. haha..

den we walked the SOUTH OF BANK for the series of bridges across RIVER THAMES..

yes, London Bridge is TAT disappointing.. haha.. i tink everyone who has been to london n saw london bridge for themselves, will say "walao, so chui arh?!?! machiam spore ECP or something oni lah.." yes, i totally agree..

its certainly NOT falling, due to the reinforcement done to the bridge, to preserve the FIRST bridge tat was built across River Thames eons yrs ago..

the Tower Bridge on the other hand, was SO MUCH NICER LAH!!

by the time we were done walking, its getting abit late.. with our musical tickets for the 7.30pm show, we had a hurried dinner and dashed separately to the different theatres for our musical.. Mamma Mia, here i come..

cos NO PHOTOGRAPHS or VIDEOS ALLOWED, we oni snapped afew pics prior to the show and after the show.. haha.. its like FULL HOUSE everyday lah.. here's y:

The music was FANTASTIC.. (well, who would say NO to ABBA songs rite?!)

The dance choreo was very 3D and dancers were well-sync..

The performancers had such powerful voices and vivid expressions..

The LIVE BAND was so impactful and had tat extra omphh..

Every song gets ur body groovy and very much wanna sing along with it!!

The audience were so spontaneous..

The spirit was juz so intense!!

The show was totally entertaining..

i give it 5 stars!

now i know y pple prefer musicals over movies! yes, its a hefty sum of money to pay for.. but its totally worth the price!! the original price for circus (balcony) seats was 55, and we paid half price oni, so tats 80SGD oni lah.. hey, WORLD CLASS PERFORMANCE LEH..
