Dance Uncensored 2007..
An annual dance production organized by Kent Ridge Hall..
An inter-hall dance event of the year tat set many feet dancing..
last yr i was part of the KE danzdemon and joined DU06 in jazz and wushu dance..
dis yr, i was part of the audience from KR to support the KR dancers.. haha.. ok lar, i not so biased one lah.. go and support every dance pieces, den come back and criticize those not-so-nice dances.. haha..
overall impression is like not as impressive and dynamic as last yr's one.. as in last yr almost 50% were hip-hop dances, but there were variety like superb KE wushu dance, neat EH military showgirls, lively TH hip-hop, synchro KR cha-cha, grand KR finale rag-like last dance.. dis yr, almost everything was either the modern contemporary dance or hip hop.. some were too artistic, well, at least for me.. haha.. simply less clothes on the dancers and yar, like not much energy in the dancers too.. it gets abit of bored eventually, cos noticable nice dances move are juz repeated here n there..
SH had the scary costume dance piece and another construction worker one.. Costume and visual effects, 99%.. dance wise, nothing impressive..
KE had 4 dance pieces.. korean dance with nice and cute costume and teddy bears.. Wushu which is not as well choreo as last yr lar, but something different too.. modern dance which, erm, i dun really wanna describe.. and lastly some chinese shanghai dance which the moves (mostly juz walking and not really dance steps..) dun really relate to the music.. if anything is to murder this yr's DU, gotta be the shanghai-themed dance.. well, at least i tink its aso KE tat left the deepest impact on the audience.. hee..
RH had a single damn long dance piece.. suppose to hav some story line, but yar, after 2-3 change of music, abit boring liao..
TH as usual their hip-hop dances.. something like last yr's one, but less revealing (heard last yr, the bikini on the dancers couldn't really cover EVERYTHING).. *yawn
consolation : EH brought in 3 dances (prob from their very own dance production which features dances choreographed by professionals ok, mai siao siao..) which are really good.. each with its own distinct favour.. esp the dance with the large golden fan! haha.. tats really fantastic with perfect sychro of the fan movement, and intrique movement of the hands of dancers to create further visual effects other den the fluid movement of the dancers ard the stage..
finally is KR.. erm, i really dunnoe how to put it, but its kinda getting a little too skimpy i tink.. haha.. i hav to admit lar, cos its kinda like becoming too "sexy" in nature.. haha.. almost every dance sure can see the midrift one lar.. imagine those figure not so nice one, either face the embarrassment, or dun join dance izzit?!?! haha.. as in dance is not JUZ abt showing flesh rite?! haha.. on the downside, it might hav distracted the audiences' focus (like tat of albert! hehe).. so instead of watching the dance moves and costume, some pple r juz staring at tummies and comparing who got the smallest waist or sumthing..
granted the fact tat most of the dance pieces from KR are modern / jazz / contemporary, i tot its abit similar to each other, with much less cloths compared to last yr's one.. even the last dance cannot compared to the "suicide dance".. nonethless, i tink the dance steps are very tightly sychro-ed and u can see the "togetherness" for each dance.. tats a huge consolation.. haha.. cos most halls can't really show tat..
but the combined hall dance was good.. the ballons added on stage as the dancers come in, and of different height one.. so the whole stage look so peaceful and bubbly.. haha..

its a performance, i tink primarily to entertain pple as well as a showcase of talents from the various halls.. but yar, like i say, the entertainment value dis yr like not so great.. its more of showmanship and such tat not many pple will enjoy.. hee.. yar, i dun hav so much 涵养 afterall.. haha..
mayb aso cos last yr i was dancing, dis yr watching, so i might be too biased lah.. haha.. of well, can't really blame me rite, singaporean mah, always complain like nobodies' business.. haha..

the oni pic took using my camera.. with weijing and eunice.. yap, she is still dancing.. and yes, it happened to be so zhun tat me and weijing are both wearing pink tat day.. stop sniggering away..
haha.. other photos, wait bah.. haha.. need to handpick the photos tat show the essence of DU.. hee..
